The event gives an opportunity for less fortunate kids to get the true sense of the holiday. Midway’s truck fleet is equipped with Guidance Positioning System (GPS) to track locations and keep detailed activity records. |

| 2002 | Trucks: 125 Employees: 245 Annual Moves: 11,000 Backed by Mayor Daley and Alderman Ed Smith, the Chicago City Council unanimously approves funding for a Mover Training Facility, to be located adjacent to Midway headquarters. The Training Facility will teach basic moving skills and create dozens of jobs, with its graduates finding employment both at Midway and other area moving companies. Midway’s record of excellence wins multiple state and government contracts, including contracts with Chicago Public Schools to relocate schools, the Board of Elections to transport voting machines and the Chicago Housing Authority to relocate residents. |
| 2003 | Trucks: 140 Employees: 260 Annual Moves: 12,000 Midway’s Web site undergoes an extensive update, resulting in a nearly 50 percent increase in hits every month over the previous year. Midway begins participating in Mayor Daley’s Kidstart Program, which provides employment to low income students. The company creates a one-year, entry-level training position, Administrative Scheduling, which teaches moving industry policies and procedures and basic office skills, including customer service. Since its inception, two Kidstart employees have parlayed the skills they learned at Midway into rewarding careers. |

Midway sponsors the first ever Windows of Opportunity "Back to School Bash", a day-long festival designed to enthuse children who live in CHA units about going back to school. Approximately 500 children enjoyed games with Chris Duhon and performances by the Jesse White Tumblers. |
